Long over due

It has been awhile since Ive posted anything. My work schedule changed right after spring break, so I have been trying to adjust, which has been very difficult rearranging schedules with the rest of the family too. I have played a bit here and there with color and blending, and just having fun! I was able to be outside on my porch with some great weather and made a pic for my living room by mixing and getting some texture in there too! So I will posty some stuff I've been doing.

Collage, dresses,drawing, oh my!

OK so after going to the Bookstore ( another favorite indulgence) I came across the book "Collage Couture" by Julie Netting. Wow, I couldn't wait to get it home and see something new. After getting some paper out and playing with new contours for body, face, eyes, hair and dress styles... I started feeling a bit more confident in drawing proportionately..so I left a few examples of what I drew. I have never been a good drawer at all. I need lots of practice. Also a few more things I made last week. Looking forward to reading Somerset Studio today. I'm totally a magazine junkie. Started She Art class 2 had a little time last night to check out some of the tutorials and looking forward to getting messy on Monday..took day off..cant wait!
1st,2nd,3rd getting a little better each time

don't you love the Popeye arm on the left...lol

She art 2 class! oh ya!

Just registered for She art two class with Christy Tomlinson and so looking forward to it, would love to meet others taking the class and see what you have created too.  Its so much fun and very inspiring art that has no rules and is  very easily put together so you can just kick back in your own space and enjoy spending time with CT.  http://christytomlinson.typepad.com/christytomlinson/2012/02/she-art-no-2-opens-today-and-a-giveaway.html

waiting for canvas!! please come today!!

So excited to make a mess on my table this weekend, the smell of paint, paper, modge on the fingers, cutting paper, ripping paper, music and old vintage papers, more texture....ART is my breath of fresh air for the week. I really look forward to this part of my weekend!  I should have been a art teacher, maybe I still could be...hmmmmm loving that thought. I have played with rubber stamps and paper for a long time, about 16 years...I remember joining on with stampin up when my oldest was 3 and having a ball playing with all that and having classes at my home had even more fun ordering and seeing all the products and building my own collection of stamps to use. I have tried so many more things since then that mixing it all together makes more sense to me, its endless, endless & did I say endless, If your into mixed media I know you agree! I feel like I'm just getting started with a new chapter in my life and its like having triple shot mocha that sparks some serious fun for me. I look for all kinds of junk, trinkets, old papers, ledgers, old books, wallpaper, old photos, old lace, threading,ribbon,metal....I feel like magiver..lol its crazy and well its me! Hope you all have a creative weekend take some time to do something for someone else and enjoy!...and a cup of chai vanilla

Mixed media is here to stay! Loving it!!

I have been having a blast with my "She Art Class" this is my first official girl..still needs my phrase added to it.. I had a bunch of tin servers I found at the thrift store that I decided to use for this girlie instead of canvas..so I will add some ribbon to hang, but I love her! I was getting excited to go to Farm chicks and it sparked this inspiration to do a girl wearing  her boots and  a messy bun!
