Long over due

It has been awhile since Ive posted anything. My work schedule changed right after spring break, so I have been trying to adjust, which has been very difficult rearranging schedules with the rest of the family too. I have played a bit here and there with color and blending, and just having fun! I was able to be outside on my porch with some great weather and made a pic for my living room by mixing and getting some texture in there too! So I will posty some stuff I've been doing.

Feather Your Nest

So After hanging all day at studio play on Saturday and playing around with some different techniques, I had pre- planned a little project to get done for Spring. This is what I came up with and I really like how it turned out. I have to add my paper nest and maybe a little chicken wire, haven't decided. I painted base a pale blue then wrapped a few rubber bands on a brayer and lightly rolled over the canvas i cheap acrylic brown to give it a aged look, then printed letters in different fonts glued them on cardboard (cereal boxes). Added Gel Medium to each letter covered and dried. Then used a fabercastle marker to shade around each letter. Then added texture from stamps. Cost only for canvas was 20.

Messy, Colorful,Monday!

So Played around with CT Kit finally! Loved her kit this month lot's of her new line and everything was way fun to play with, Love the Colors everything about spring right now & so ready too. Taking all day class this Saturday, looking forward to that and working on some new projects. Spring break this next week, so hanging with miss Girlie and painting some rooms and girlie stuff! Hope you all are as ready for some good weather and polishing up for the flip flops...lol.

Messy Monday!

So After receiving a huge bouquet of pussy willows from my sister in law, I used that as my inspiration for this project, I love them! So putting this together was quick and easy. canvas, mod podge, pattern paper, staz-on in red and black, stamps for texture, white & cloudless (apple barrel) acrylic paint, MS stencil, gel medium. This would be cute framed up in some old barn wood, weathered and already naturally textured up. So hope this is a great week for everybody! Make something and give it away! Blessings!

Thursday Post!

So Last nights art class was fun,I had a chance to see some of the other ladies Journals and I was blown away with the color's the creativity that went into their pages amazing! Very inspired to try some different things and get this journaling thing going on! One of the ladies brought a few bags of her leftover craft stuff to share with us very kind and definitely brought it to the right place! Hello Free craft stuff! Heaven..lol. So I cut off a bit of this and that and this is what I brought home. I will think of something to do with it!!

So Enjoying the sunny day blogging a bit and of course my favorite hot tea! The House is quiet and my dog is a sleep on my feet(awwww) but something I want to share with you a thought about my co worker who lost his wife suddenly this last week do to unknown cancer, my heart has been heavy with so many things because of what happened to her that I cant stop thinking about it. Time is so unknown and we have no idea when someone dear to us will be taken from us, so please dont waste it. Nothing we do will bring back time, so Love the people in your life to the fullest everyday, enjoy them, tell them how you feel about them, and dont hold grudges it destroys only yourself. Love, cherish, and explode your kindness onto people, your family, friends, that is my thought for today and something I really want to do everyday as much as I can. For What time I have left! So if your reading this  right now, I love you! Have a blessed and happy day!

So I have had this laying around and decided to give it a new face!  decoupage some paper on the front, took some pics from an old sears catalog and decoupaged them on the drawer pulls to give it a vintage look,this would be fun to do to a old jewelry box too!
